The Musical Tradition of the Jews of Russia

You’ve no doubt heard of the Three Tenors. We are pleased to present the Three Sopranos – all Russian born Jews who are accomplished singers, musicians and cantors! Join us for an afternoon concert of secular and sacred music that is part of the Russian Jewish heritage these women carried with them when they emigrated from the former Soviet Union. Joining us will be Mariya Dubinskaia, cantor at Shaarei Tefilah on the Upper East Side; Marina Shemesh, cantor at Brotherhood Synagogue on Gramercy Park and Natasha Hirschhorn, a musicologist and Music Director of Ansche Chesed on the Upper West Side. Wine and dessert will follow the concert!
