ArtOnBrighton 2012 is the 2nd annual multidisciplinary art festival celebrating the creative post-Soviet immigrants of Brighton Beach, New York City, and beyond.
Brighton Beach is a Brooklyn neighborhood that you may not associate with a vibrant art scene, YET. Before joining us at the NY Aquarium, daytime visitors are encouraged to explore Open Artist Studios in and around Brighton Beach. Not only will you meet the local artists, but you’ll likely encounter some interesting characters and sights along th
e way.
At 7PM you’re invited to the NY Aquarium, for an incredible evening of live music, art, and comedy, followed by a DJ-spun dance party out on the Beach!
At the NY Aquarium:
Check out the Amazing Water art exhibit
Enjoy the Open Bar and Snacks
Get lost under inspired video projections by GlitchFairy
Revel in live performances by post-modern multicultural artists:
Then follow the music out onto the Beach! Spinning dance beats into the night:
Watch out for the fire spinners!
On the beach, you’ll see “Brighton Is Cool, Ocean is Hot” – a large-scale site-specific art installation by MP, an artist collective. Its representation of an authoritative object that shapes urban life is at the foundation of the commitment to make Brighton Beach “cool.”
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the doors. Tickets include entry to NY Aquarium, Amazing Water exhibit, Live Performances, Open Bar, Food, Video show, and DJ-spun dance party on the beach!
